"Moreover, NAAM celebrated MLK60, the celebration of the 60th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr's visit to Seattle, on Nov. 6, 2021 at Garfield." NAAM's ACE Ensemble, directed by Turner, performed at the event as well.
"This year, on Jan. 17, NAAM also celebrated the annual King Day with the community on the Garfield campus." NAAM provided COVID vaccinations, gave away new books by Black authors, and had a donation station for the community to give essential items to people experiencing homelessness and others in need.
